Build your own website (a non-technical approach)

At the end of this course the student will have an appreciation of the purpose of creating a website, the basic elements of which a site is composed and the design issues surrounding them. Students will be able to build a multi page website using Microsoft FrontPage and will be able to publish the site on the internet. Students will understand how people find and visit web sites and what they do when they get there and will be able to generate income from their websites through sales of their own or other people’s products and services.

This course is aimed at members of the public and small business owners who would like to have their own website or would like to take control of an existing website without paying high commercial rates or entrusting their site to an ‘amateur’. It will include topics such as search engine optimisation and accessibility issues. Students will require basic PC skills, a copy of Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and access to the internet.
